LA SID Chapter meeting will have live presentations and a buffet on October 17, 2024. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet display experts in person, see some old
friends, and learn about crucial display technologies.
Join LA SID chapter at 7:00 pm for 2 talks, 30 minutes each and a buffet meal. The meetings objectives are the same: in-person presentations by respected experts in pertinent areas of display technology, with an expanded opportunity to ask questions and engage them directly.

Dr Arnaud Zoubir is a professional in Photonics with over 20 years of experience and a strong expertise in Laser physics and Spectroscopy. He holds a PhD from University of Central Florida and has performed Research in the US, Germany, Australia, and Japan He has over 40 scientific publications, several active patents that are being exploited, and edited a book on Raman Spectroscopy. Arnaud is also a serial entrepreneur, mentoring students and young entrepreneurs, and he founded several photonics start-ups (GoyaLab and AOI Tech).

Head Mounted Displays 101 by W. Lee Hendrick, Principal Systems Engineer, Collins Aerospace
Abstract
W. Lee Hendrick will start with an introduction to Optics, Vision and the Human Factors of Head Mounted Displays. The applications (AR, VR, etc...) and specifications of HMDs will be discussed, followed by the various image sources and optical design forms that can be used in the design of an HMD.
