Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Society for Information Display’s program committee, we welcome you to the Display Week 2025 International Symposium, Seminar, and Exhibition, taking place May 11 to May 16. We are pleased to return to San Jose again for our unique gathering of display academicians and industry experts from all over the world.

The technical program starts off with five Short Courses on Sunday, May 11. Each four-hour short course offers a deep dive into a timely area of display technology. This year’s roster includes “Fundamentals of TFTs,” “Fundamentals and Applications of OLED Materials and Devices,” “Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence: Vision to Language Models,” “Image Segmentation -- From the Basics to the State of the Art/Fundamentals and Applications of Artificial Intelligence in the Display Smart Factory,” and “Fundamentals of Head-Worn Displays for Mixed-Reality Applications.”

Our Monday Seminars feature 15 ninety-minute presentations organized by track: AR/VR/MR/XR Technologies and User Experience; Display Technologies; and Machine Learning and AI. On Monday afternoon we are also once again offering SID’s Young Leadership Conference, a platform in which student presenters whose papers have been chosen for the Display Week symposium present their findings in a special setting prior to the general sessions. Monday also brings us a special conference on Computer Vision and AI, as well as the first-ever Display101, a program for newcomers to the display industry and/or Display Week.

The Display Week Symposium, the heart of our annual event, starts Tuesday, May 13, and runs through May 16. This year we received more abstracts than ever before. Our symposium therefore features a record number of presentations, with 99 technical sessions (including keynotes) consisting of 382 oral presentations and 260 poster presentations. Each year, SID's technical program team designates special topics of interest based on the latest areas of progress. This year, those special topics are “Artificial Intelligence Including Machine Learning for Imaging,” “Ultra-High Bandwidth Display Data Transmission and Processing,” and, new this year, “Heterogeneous Integration on Glass and Other Substrates for Emerging Applications” and “Sustainable Displays and Green Technologies.”

Before the symposium gets started on Tuesday morning, be sure to attend our keynote presentations, featuring leaders from the display industry who will address current challenges and opportunities and provide a roadmap to a successful future. We are honored to present Aparna Chennapragada, Chief Product Officer for Microsoft Experiences and Devices; Keith Strier, Senior Vice President, Global AI Markets, AMD; and Frank Ko, Chief Executive Officer and President, AUO Corp. Don’t miss what they have to say!

As soon as the keynotes conclude, it will also be time for our world-class exhibition to open. Join us for our annual ribbon cutting and then make your way onto the show floor, where’ll you’ll see demonstrations of new products and services from companies around the world. Many exhibitors will also offer Exhibitors’ Forum presentations on the exhibit floor’s Center Stage. One can’t-miss exhibit hall feature is the I-Zone, featuring nascent and often surprising technology from start-ups and research institutions. And don’t forget the Thursday night poster session and reception. This is a great opportunity to view the posters, talk to their authors, and enjoy the company of friends and colleagues.

In addition to the technical program and exhibits, there are many other events to enjoy at Display Week, including our Women in Tech and CEO Panels and additional technology focused panels, all taking place on the exhibit hall Center Stage.

We want to make sure to invite you to attend the Display Week social event on Tuesday evening, with refreshments on the exhibit floor.

And we want to point out that this year our technical program runs all day Friday, May 16. We encourage everyone to attend the Symposium on Friday for a full day of programming.

Last but not least we want to thank you – the most important part of Display Week. We sincerely appreciate you showing up and adding your enthusiasm and expertise to our annual event

Respectfully yours,
